5 points of Architecture

Le Corbusier | Villa Savoye | Five Points of Architecture

One of the famous work from Le Corbusier, the Villa Savoye translate the 5 points of architecture in a very clear and understandable way. The free designing of the ground plan enable open-flowing space in the building. This feature helps to gather the people and that is the intersection point if where people meets together. The open plan design is useful for future designing a community space because it enhances the space by allowing the air ventilation and human flow in a particular area.

Next, the pilotis arranged in a grid way provide an easy space planning where the owner could design the space he wants without worrying about the supporting structure in the building. The designing of the facade also could be independent of the structural frame.

Most of the building now has the roof garden element. It encourages the reduction of sunlight is being absorbed by the material and at the same time bring the building back to nature.

As a conclusion, the 5 points architecture has been slowly invaded the architecture in Malaysia, especially the open-plan concept. The concept is highly encouraged in Kajang because of the high density of population, the bond between the community can increase through the interactive program designed by the architect.
